Burrito Deluxe Gets High-Tech Push For Down-To-Earth Music
The campaign deftly crosses genres. Americana, AAA, Country and College radio formats are the targets of the three-month effort, which will digitally deliver three new tracks each month (October-December) via Airplay Direct. PDs and DJs will be directed to a site -- www.airplaydirect.com/music/bands/2966/index.php -- to sample and download broadcast-quality mp3s.
Starting today, programmers can download the following three tracks: "Front Row Seats To Heaven," "When The Summer's Over," and "Who's Gonna Love You."
The goal is to familiarize radio programmers with Burrito Deluxe's hearty blend of seasoned musicianship, great songs, and stellar performances. Fans of country, as well as aficionados of performers such as Tom Petty and forefathers the Flying Burrito Brothers, the Byrds and The Band, are sure to be won over. That was enthusiastically demonstrated during Burrito Deluxe's July tour of Europe and the U.K., where singles from the album have already met with chart success and critical acclaim.
"We knew we needed to think out of the box with DISCIPLES," says Brenda Cline, the band's manager. "The album is a collection of rockin' country roots with some blues and will appeal to many radio programmers. So far the response has been overwhelmingly favorable. Our challenge is simply to get the music out there so people can hear it, rather than rely on the traditional channels, which are clogged by corporate product and restricted playlists.

"We teamed up with Raleigh Squires of 1617 Virtual when we learned of the groundbreaking work he did
with Lee Roy Parnell's record earlier this year."
The Parnell project gained valuable exposure for the versatile performer's "Daddies and Daughters"
single and Back To The Well CD. Squires, who is aiming for similar success with Burrito Deluxe, explains: "By the time the DISCIPLES OF THE TRUTH CD is released in early 2007, radio will already be familiar with the project."
