Burrito Deluxe Carries The Torch for Country Rock During “CRS-38” in Nashville
(Nashville, TN) -- BURRITO DELUXE made the rounds at “CRS-38” in
Nashville
last week, introducing themselves to Country radio programmers from all
around the world. The group is currently promoting their latest single
“Disciples
of the Truth” and new CD by the same name.
Carlton Moody and Walter Egan thrilled interviewers with their responses
to
questions about the illustrious history of this group which has evolved
from
Country Rock royalty. Moody related how he and the late steel guitar
legend, “
Sneaky” Pete Kleinow formed BURRITO DELUXE in 2000, and the fact that
“
Sneaky” Pete's last recordings are featured on ‘DISCIPLES OF THE
TRUTH.’ “Sneaky
” Pete was the co-founder of the Flying Burrito Brothers, whom are
credited
with inventing the blueprint for Country Rock in the late-60's.
BURRITO DELUXE performed a rousing short set on Thursday night for radio
professionals and fans at “Live From CRS” at the Wildhorse Saloon
along with
many other acts, including, Bucky Covington, Donovan Chapman, and Emerson
Drive.
On Saturday night, BURRITO DELUXE hosted a standing-room-only CD release
party for ‘DISCIPLES OF THE TRUTH’ at 3rd & Lindsley in Nashville.
Fans from
around the country and Europe were treated to a high-energy show of
selections
from the new CD, band favorites, and songs from their first two albums.
Also
in the crowd were some of Nashville’s finest songwriters who
contributed to
the album, including Rob Crosby, George Hamilton V, Craig Karp and Tommy
Job.
After the performance, a surprise birthday cake was presented to keyboard
player, Richard Bell. It was a perfect closing to the events of the
week.
